Review on Baby wrap Firespiral (Fispi) Argent Twilight Seafoam

About a month ago, I ordered 3 Fispi within a week and the Firespiral (Fispi) Argent Twilight Seafoam, which was actually from the first release, arrived the first even though it was ordered last.
The hems were not as professionally done as the rest but so far everything was okay, it hasn't started to fray yet.

I fell in love with this 100% cotton, 245 gsm Fispi which was first released on 6 Sep 2013. It is so smooth to the touch even without washing. After washing and tumbling almost dry, and ironing on a low heat, I couldn't wait to use it.

I was overwhelmed by the smoothness and softness of this seafoam wrap. The colour combination is also very unique and pleasing to the eye.

This is my first wrap, I have ring slings and a few SSCs. I did a FWCC cushy to wrap my baby. The size 6 wrap (was supposed to be 5m but I haven't measured).

The design is also breathtakingly delicious from the way my LO was sucking it.

The size 6 seafoam is my base length and doing a FWCC helps to spread the pressure across my shoulders and back such that I hardly feel the weight of my 10kg baby. For the first time, I understood why a wrap was much preferred over a SSC. we can adjust the wrap into the carries we like. It is more cooling than a SSC.

Within minutes of using, the sleepy dust would envelope my LO. We can also clip a fan to cool our LO down in this hot climate.

Review on The Ergobaby Performance baby carrier (navy blue with black lining/hood)

Soft Structured carrier under review:
-          The Ergobaby Performance baby carrier (navy blue with black lining/hood)
Additional component (optional) :
-          infant insert
-          teething pad

A few weeks before I gave birth, I bought the approximately 0.64kg Ergo Performance baby carrier for about $239. This carrier has a body material (shell&mesh) made of 100% polyester and body material (knit) made of 100% cotton knit. There are 3 possible carry positions, namely the front, back and hip position but so far I only tried the front position. I like the fact that the material gives more support but yet adding extra bulk to the carrier. The body material is able to mould the baby to the user smoothly. Moreover, the carrier is easy to use without the need for much instruction.

The carrier is for babies between 5.5kg to 20kg. An infant insert is to be used together for babies weighing 3.2kg to 5.5kg. I think below 3.2kg, you cannot use the carrier at all. This instruction can be found on the note sewn on the carrier. This plastic note is a dead giveaway for counterfeit Ergobaby products if u spot any spelling errors on it.

Designed in USA, this carrier allows my baby to be seated comfortably, especially so for infants after 5 months old, babies with a better head and neck control. When my baby was about 2 months old, because of my c-section wound, it hurt so much that I could not wear it for long as the wound has not quite healed internally. Moreover, the infant insert will make both mother and baby perspire so much as it is too thick to be suitable for Singapore’s hot climate. I did away with it just after 1 time usage. Don’t waste money to get the extra infant insert which cost me about $79 if I didn’t remember wrongly. Some shops sell it for $42.50 now. I can’t remember how much exactly I paid for it. Before I gave birth, my mind was too preoccupied with the continuous counting of my baby’s heartbeats in case something went wrong.

2 months old                             4 months old

My hubby tried to help me by carrying my baby in this carrier. However, our 2 months old infant then cried so much from the pain of opening her legs in the sitting position as her father has a much wider body than me. Hence, I deduced that it wasn’t suitable for young infants carried by people with wide torso. I waited for my baby to grow up a little older before I continued to use this carrier because at 2.5 months, my baby had to undergo an operation and I didn’t want to injure her by babywearing her. The shoulder straps and waist belt can be adjusted to the user’s height. Long straps can be neatly tucked after rolling with a sewn-on elastic band. I think most mother have quite short torso, so this ergobaby carrier is more suitable for short to average build female users. The material is easy to care for and machine washable if you use a washing bag, it will be okay. The elastic band at the waist is getting loose so maybe Ergobaby should invest in a better elastic band.

The weight is supposed to be evenly distributed across the shoulders and hips but for me, the weight seemed to be focused at my back. The padded shoulder pads made it comfortable for me to babywear. When my baby starting teething at 2 months, I started to get teething pads for the carrier. Ergobaby does carry teething pads which are sold separately. These are quite thick and comfy in case you want to get a pair.

Due to Singapore’s hot climate, we needed to ensure that our baby does get enough ventilation and wind to cool given that both of us perspire and radiate heat. I came up with a brilliant plan by attaching a clip on fan on the hood of the carrier so as to improve the breathability of the sports carrier. The slip on hood also prevent glares in the ever sunny Singapore.

Initially my baby is “drowning” in the carrier but now, at 9.5 months, my daughter is more than 72 cm tall and her nape is above the top of the carrier, making it less hot. This is better as my daughter has good head and neck control and the space gives her the opportunity to turn her head to explore the surroundings with curious fascination. Her legs are able to rest comfortably at the sides of the carrier with a padded waist belt. She is also able to move her hands at the open sides of the carrier.

In conclusion, Ergo Performance baby carrier is easy to care for, ergonomic for the baby to sit in for an average build user and suitable for babies preferably above 5 months with good head and neck support. By adding a clip-on fan, babies can be cooled down in Singapore’s hot and humid climate.

Baking milo biscuits for the first time

My recipe for milo biscuits
1. 227g butter
2. 240g self raising flour
3. 25g corn flour
4. 100g milo powder (from tin/refill pack)
5. 2 tablespoon brown sugar
6. 1 egg
7. 25g milk powder
1. Preheat the oven at 140 degrees celsius.
2. Cream the butter  and milo together for 3 mins under slow speed. Be careful the powder will fly everywhere
3. Add in the beaten egg.
4. Add in sugar.
5. Add in the sifted flour, milk powder and corn flour and stir with spatula to combine
6. Put on baking tray lined with parchment/baking paper.
7. Bake for 40mins under 140 degrees. Baking time varies depending on your oven make.
8. Take out and leave tray to cool on cooling rack.
9. Store in air tight container.

Note: this recipe can bake 2 trays of cookies depending on your oven size.
Optional: add in chocolate chips.

I was wondering if I should let it bake longer or increase temp since inside still a bit uncooked. Or perhaps just make v thin layer so it can cook properly.

Gave birth via C-sect! 5 weeks old Baby J.

Gave birth more than 1 month ago @ Gleneagles via emergency C section because baby's umbilical cord was cord around her neck, causing her distress. She had an unstable heartbeat that went up to a high 200 and a low 80 at times. There wasn't much contractions and the cervix wasn't open.

Here's a cute Baby J at 4 weeks old... I think my darling is such a photogenic baby. I am grateful to have such a wondrous gift!

By the way, those are interested to try ageloc R2, pls contact me by leaving me your contact numbers or email asap as I have 6 sets left to clear at attractively low prices.

My baby girl is 21 weeks and 1 day old now.

Sorry, didn't update blog because I was not feeling very well and was very busy with work.

Good news! I am pregnant!
After close to 6 years of marriage... I will be delivering in another 19 weeks. This is my baby girl at week 13... Her gender was only disclosed last week after I visited my gynae, Dr Peter Chew at Gleneagles Medical Centre.

My baby girl is 21 weeks and 1 day old now. Hey, honestly, I don't mind if you sponsor some baby items (clothes, car seats, cot, milk pump, milk bags, milk bottles, etc), I can help you advertise your company's products on my blog! Just drop me a message or leave a comment!

My baby has a sharp chin at week 13! So shy, we couldn't see her gender then when she closed her legs.

I have been receiving a lot of emails and calls regarding TRA and ageloc. I bought 6 sets of ageloc upon its launch and now I have 2 sets of 10 left. Some I gave/ sold to friends an some my Hubby and I consumed rigorously before my pregnancy. If you want to try, maybe you can contact me by emailing me  ( with your contact details. I have been taking ageloc after I finished my TRA programme, all the way till I knew I was pregnant in late March. I have stopped taking as my gynae prescribed me lots of supplements, too many I cannot keep track plus I had cough and flu. Honestly, ageloc is very useful to give energy boost and some say improve vitality.

This is me last year after losing weight (wearing wig. lol). now I have gained weight due to pregnancy.

Recently, I discovered I had anaemia and last week, I was diagnosed as having gestational diabetes (GD). They say if you have a history of diabetes in the family, you will have a higher chance of getting. Plus I had PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome) so maybe that also increases the chances of getting GD. I thought my world was crashing down but I guess this is not the worse.  consuming some half cup of orange juice with my liquid iron supplement (spatone). I put on 10kg in 20 weeks.

I have thought that being pregnant, I should eat more. However, this is not supposed to be right. I have been eating lots of carbohdyrates andI stopped taking lots of vegetables. I feel very lethargic and often had terribly swollen feet. With the gyane's recommended diet, I managed to keep my blood sugar down but I feel very tired and look pale...

With my friend's help, my hubby bought me a glucose meter to track my blood sugar yesterday.

2hrs after eating, I got 4.7... means I might not have eaten enough.

It was so difficult to test and I wasted 2 strips before I got it right. I pricked myself more than 4 times on my little finger and the starting process was so tedious and so time consuming. Even now, I feel that the glucose meter is too fast for me to test my blood. Every time must prick at least twice to get blood. Not sure if it got to do with me having quite a low blood pressure.

Now, that I am diagnosed with gestational diabetes, I realised that my 3333 programme (from TRA) should have been continued.  I can do better if I can control my diet.I have lost at least 1.5 kg in less than a week but my blood sugar level is still ok..

Most importantly, my baby girl must be alright!

Penny Black Christmas Card

Christmas Card  using Penny Black stamps with masking and glitter glue...

I found that the card was a bit strange and incomplete so I distressed all the sides again using the rusty hinge distress pad and sponge.
